Homenaje a Blacksad

Este es un homenaje al cómic español Blacksad. Adoro la expresividad que el dibujante Juanjo Guarnido consigue dar a sus personajes antropomórficos y sobretodo su estilo cartoon. Para darle un toque distinto a los personajes los he pintado en acrílico, ya que Juanjo Guarnido suele utilizar la acuarela para sus personajes. This is a homage to spanish comic Blacksad. I love the expressivity that artist Juanjo Guarnido gives to his antropomorphic characters as well as his cartoon style. I've drawn the characters with acrylics to give them a different touch because Juanjo Guarnido often uses watercolours.

 

 

 

Sirena

Esta acuarela la hice a principios de verano. Con tanto calor convertirme en sirena por un mes hubiera sido un sueño hecho realidad, bueno aunque no he pisado este año el mar, más bien he sido una sirena de piscina.

I drew this watercolour in early summer. It was so hot that  I’d have loved  to turn myself into  a mermaid, just for a month. The truth is that I haven´t enjoyed the sea this holiday but, at least, I´ve been a swimming pool mermaid!

Bailarina

Este retrato lo realicé tomando como referencia una foto. Es la primera vez que utilizo la técnica al pastel y me ha gustado mucho porque se consigue buenos resultados a la hora de plasmar diferentes texturas.

This portrait I did it using a photograph of reference. This is first time I use pastel technique and I love it becuse it’s very easy to paint different kind of textures with this technique.  

Retrato a lápiz y photoshop

Este es un retrato que realicé por encargo. Como veis primero hice el dibujo a lápiz, lo escaneé y después le apliqué el color con photoshop, decidí no eliminar la línea una vez terminado para que tuviese un toque más artístico. ¡Para mí la técnica digital todavía me parece todo un mundo pendiente de conquistar!

 I painted this portrait to order. As you can see, first I did the drawing in pencil and then I scanned it to apply the color with Photoshop. I decided not to remove the lines to get a more artistic result. I´ve to say the digital technique is yet a little difficult to me!.

Estudio monocromático en acuarela

 

Hice esta ilustración porque me apetecía mucho hacer un estudio monocromático. Lo realicé en acuarela utilizando un solo color (sombra tostada). La verdad que resulta mucho más complicado de lo que parece, es mucho más fácil utilizar una paleta más extensa de colores. ¡Fue todo un reto!

I drew this illustration because I felt like doing a monochromatic study. I did it in watercolor using just one color ( umber brown shade). It proved to be more complicated than I expected. It was really challenging!
